On Saturday, April 19, former Highlands Senior High School standout Jett Slepak’s current college team, the Akron Zips, won 7-3 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Northern Illinois Huskies.

The game took place at Ralph McKinzie Field at Walt and Janice Owens Park. This was their third matchup against the Huskies this season.

The Zips’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. at Bill Davis Stadium against Ohio State Buckeyes.
