West Deer Township is set to receive $243,000 in state funding for improvements to Bairdford Park, according to an announcement by Rep. Jeremy Shaffer (R-Allegheny). The grant is part of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2).
The funds will be used for a range of upgrades at the park, including renovations to the parking area, construction of a dek hockey court, new pedestrian walkways, installation of utilities, improvements for ADA accessibility, landscaping, signage, and additional site enhancements.
“Investing in our local parks means investing in the health and well-being of our communities,” said Shaffer. “I was happy to work in a bipartisan manner to secure the funding for Bairdford Park in West Deer Township to provide more outdoor recreational opportunities for families and residents to enjoy for years to come.”
This grant is supported by resources from the Keystone Fund, Environmental Stewardship Fund, and other funding sources.
