FCAHS Blood Drive Set for August 11

FCAHS Blood Drive Set for August 11

Fox Chapel Area High School is holding a summer community blood drive Thursday, August 11, 2022. The blood drive will be held at the Vitalant Harmar/Fox Chapel Donor Center from 1-6:30 p.m., and all people 16 and older are encouraged to donate blood.

Additionally, Vitalant is, once again, offering several scholarships to area high school students. To qualify for these scholarships, Fox Chapel Area High School is hosting this summer blood drive and will sponsor additional blood drives throughout the 2022-2023 school year. The scholarships will be awarded for the highest percent participation and the largest number of registered donations for the year. Additionally, anyone who donates blood at a local donor center can also ask for the donation to count toward Fox Chapel Area High School’s total. Just specify the donation is to count toward Fox Chapel Area High School (code HS010025).

To schedule an appointment, go to https://donateblood.centralbloodbank.org/. Choose “Donor Login” if you have donated with Vitalant or Central Blood Bank before. If you have not donated before, choose “New Donor.” At the “Schedule your Appointment Today” screen, scroll down using the far right scroll bar and enter group code HS010025 to schedule your donation. If you cannot schedule online, please call 412/209-7000, or contact Cyndi Funk at 412.477.2957 or cfunk@vitalant.org. Donors are strongly encouraged to make an appointment, but walk-ins are also welcome.

Fox Chapel Area High School’s blood drive is being coordinated by the community outreach committee of the Fox Chapel Area High School Student Government.

The Vitalant Harmar/Fox Chapel Donor Center is located at 2585 Freeport Road, Suite 207, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
