Several students and alumni from the School of Education’s Applied Developmental Psychology (ADP) volunteered their time during a weeklong camp sponsored by Cancer Bridges in July. The summer day camp for children impacted by cancer offers therapeutic and expressive arts opportunities for kids ages 5-12 years to connect with peers who understand what it’s like to have cancer in the family.
Abby Ziegler (EDUC ’15G), a certified child life specialist, is the family and youth program manager for the camp. She developed two days of virtual camp and three days in-person alongside Paige Hockycko (EDUC ’22G), who helped create the therapeutic activities and run the schedule. Third-year student Denise Esposto has volunteered with the camp since 2014.
