A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to Dekalb County on September 26, 2024. The request was made by DeKalb Times, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
In the request, we asked for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, until September 26, 2024. We requested that the list include the following fields: Vendor Name, Transaction Date, Transaction Description, and Amount.
As a media organization dedicated to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe access to such records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. In light of our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
We are currently awaiting a response from Dekalb County regarding this request.
