FOIA Request Sent to Township of Shaler Police Pension Regarding Employee and Retiree Pension Rosters on September 20, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Township of Shaler Police Pension on September 20, 2024. The request, made by North Allegheny News, seeks comprehensive information about the organization's pension fund for active and retired employees for the year 2023.

As part of our commitment to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at North Allegheny News have requested this data under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law. We believe that access to such public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

The detailed information requested includes last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, employer name, employment start date, employment end date, salary details, compensation type and amount. Additionally, we have asked for data related to disbursement frequency and amounts as well as contribution amounts for the year 2023.

Given our role in disseminating information to the public as a media organization, we have also requested a fee waiver for this FOIA request. We will continue to strive towards providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
