State Representative Rob Mercuri has announced the annual Community Health Fair, scheduled to take place at AHN Wexford on October 12. The event aims to promote health and wellbeing within the North Hills of Pittsburgh community.

The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Allegheny Health Network Wexford’s Health and Wellness Pavilion, located on the second floor at 12311 Perry Highway in Wexford. It will feature informational exhibitors, door prizes, and free flu shots.

Rep. Mercuri emphasized the importance of community health in his role as representative of the 28th Legislative District. "Working to keep the community in strong health and well-being has been a prominent focus of my term," he stated. In addition to hosting numerous health fairs, he highlighted his efforts through the creation of the North Hills Mental Health and Substance Abuse Task Force. The task force aims to improve life quality for residents affected by substance use and mental health challenges by increasing awareness, promoting prevention strategies, and enhancing access to care while eliminating overdoses.

"I am thrilled with the results of the task force and our work with local and regional health and human service experts to raise awareness and find solutions to the issues plaguing our Commonwealth," Rep. Mercuri added.

Community members are encouraged to attend the fair on October 12. To make an appointment for a flu shot during the event, contact Rep. Mercuri's office at 412-369-2230.
