Rep. Jeremy Shaffer, a Republican from Allegheny, has officially begun his first term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Shaffer was elected in November to represent the 28th Legislative District for a two-year term.

"I am humbled and honored to serve the residents of northern Allegheny County in the House of Representatives," said Shaffer. "I am eager to spend this new session working with our residents and advocating for them in Harrisburg."

Shaffer outlined several priorities for the 2025-26 Legislative Session. These include creating an environment conducive to business and family prosperity, reducing taxes and regulations, supporting small businesses through economic opportunities, enhancing education accessibility and transparency, fostering bipartisanship, and promoting regional growth.

The 28th Legislative District encompasses Bradford Woods Borough and the townships of Hampton, Marshall, Pine, Richland, and West Deer.

Shaffer was sworn in at the state Capitol on Tuesday, January 7th. He was accompanied by his wife Stacey during the ceremony.
