Rep. Rob Mercuri announced the approval of a loan exceeding $6.3 million for the Marshall Township Municipal Sanitary Authority. The funding is intended for various water infrastructure projects, including drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater upgrades.

The authority will collaborate with Cranberry Township in Butler County through an intermunicipal agreement to contribute to a solids handling upgrade project at the Brush Creek Water Pollution Control Facility. This initiative extends beyond Marshall and Cranberry townships to benefit other regional municipalities.

"Ensuring our communities have access to municipal services for our day-to-day lives is essential," stated Mercuri. "These funds will be utilized to deliver improved water quality at a more cost-effective rate for customers in an environmentally efficient manner. I am proud to have advocated for them."

Rep. Stephenie Scialabba, representing Cranberry Township, highlighted the significance of this investment: "Clean and affordable water is non-negotiable," she said. "Thanks to the proactive collaboration between Marshall and Cranberry townships, we can keep delivering results for our area. This is government working right."

The PENNVEST board approved the funding, which originates from state and federal sources. PENNVEST focuses on providing capital funding for projects related to drinking water, wastewater, stormwater management, and pollution prevention that enhance public health and environmental safety.
